The music world mourns the loss of George Darko, a legendary musician and pioneer of ‘Burga highlife,’ who reportedly passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
Mr. Darko, also known as Nana Apem Darko I, served as the Tufuhene of Akropong and made significant contributions to Ghanaian music as a guitarist, vocalist, composer, and songwriter since the late 1960s.
