Family of Late Ejisu MP and Deputy Finance Minister Officially Notify Parliament Speaker of His Passing

The family of the late Ejisu MP and Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, has formally communicated his demise to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

During a courtesy visit on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, the bereaved family met with the First Deputy Speaker and Bekwai MP, Joseph Osei Owusu, who received them on behalf of Mr. Bagbin and the entire Parliament.

John Kumah passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Suhum Government Hospital after a brief illness.

Remembered as a committed family man, John Kumah is survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children. His legacy includes serving as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), where he played a pivotal role in establishing NEIP as a significant contributor to Ghana’s entrepreneurship landscape.

During his tenure, NEIP facilitated training for 7,000 startups in 2018 through the Presidential Business Support Programme and provided financial assistance to 1,350 beneficiaries.

Prior to his government appointment, Dr. Kumah co-founded and served as the Managing Partner of Aduaprokye Chambers, a law firm, and also established Majak Associates Ltd, a building and construction company.
