Samuel Dubik Mahama, the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has provided assurance that the company possesses sufficient installed power capacity to cater to the needs of businesses and households across the country.
Addressing recent distribution challenges that resulted in power outages, Mahama acknowledged ongoing maintenance operations and investments by the company to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for Ghanaians.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Friday, March 1, Mahama emphasized that there is currently no supply issue, and any localized outages would be addressed promptly if reported. He urged the public to inform ECG staff immediately in case of faults.
Encouraging prompt bill payments, Mahama highlighted that consumer debts affect ECG’s operations. Although he couldn’t provide a specific figure on outstanding debts at the moment, he emphasized that even small amounts owed have an impact on the company’s commercial losses.
