Nine Injured in Clash Between Residents and Police in North East Region

In the Mamprugu-Moagduri District of the North East Region, nine individuals sustained injuries following a clash between residents and the police regarding the custody of a suspected motorbike thief at a local marketplace.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Abu Adam, revealed that six of the injured are currently undergoing treatment at the Walewale Municipal Hospital, while the remaining three victims are receiving medical care at the Sandema District Hospital in the Upper East Region.

Mr. Adam reported that all the victims are responding well to treatment. As of Thursday morning, three of them had been referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital and Bolgatanga Hospital, respectively.

Expressing condemnation for the incident, the DCE criticized both the youth and the police. He assured the public that investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the clash.
