A state funeral honoring the late former First Lady, Theresa Kufuor, is set to take place at the Forecourt of the State House on November 16, 2023. The ceremony will commence at 7 a.m. with a procession, followed by a burial mass at 9 a.m.

Additionally, final funeral rites for Mrs. Kufuor are scheduled to be conducted at Heroes Park in Kumasi on Saturday, November 18.

The former First Lady passed away at her residence in Peduase on October 1 at the age of 87, surrounded by her family. A Requiem Mass was held on November 15, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cantonments, Accra. The solemn occasion brought together high-profile personalities, politicians, members of the New Patriotic Party, as well as family and friends of the late former First Lady.

Theresa Kufuor, who entered matrimony with former President John Kufuor in 1962, served as Ghana’s First Lady from 2001 to 2009.
