Awulae Agyefi Kwame, the Paramount Chief of Nsein Traditional Area in the Western Region, has voiced his disappointment with the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration’s second term. He expressed deep concern over the deplorable state of roads in the region, asserting that President Akufo-Addo’s second term has proven detrimental to him and his people.
During a press conference at his palace on October 31, Awulae Agyefi Kwame drew attention to the ongoing challenges with the Takoradi to Agona-Nkwanta road, which frequently experiences blockages due to its deteriorating condition. He emphasized that the Western Region has not experienced the promised improvements under the “4 more 4 Nana” slogan, with the current administration appearing to have allowed the region’s road infrastructure to deteriorate significantly.
He stated, “As for the Western region, our major problem is the poor nature of our roads. Anyone who travels on the Agona Nkwanta road will notice its dire condition. I wonder if these are the same roads President Akufo-Addo plans to campaign on. Under this NPP government, if we are being honest, the roads in the Western region have all deteriorated. In essence, ‘Four more for Nana’ has been a disaster for the Western Region. Considering the valuable minerals extracted from the Western region, this should not be our reward.”
Awulae Agyefi Kwame called upon the President and his appointees to ensure that the region’s roads are repaired before the 2024 election campaign. He stressed the need for the Western Region’s voice to be heard and addressed the pressing road infrastructure issues before they further deteriorate.
