Smivic Initiates Registration for SHE Power Summit and Exhibition in Accra

The Executive Committee for SHE Power unveiled the registration process for the 2023 SHE Summit during its annual launch event at the offices of Smivic Communications Limited. They emphasized the pivotal role of women’s economic empowerment in fostering national development and sustainability, recognizing women’s indispensable contributions to economic growth.

Ms. Victoria Amankwaa, Chief Executive Officer, emphasized that while the majority of their conferences have traditionally focused on women in Ghana, this year’s summit will include men in society, as equality and development hinge on the holistic development of the Ghanaian populace.

“We believe that coaching and grooming should impact both genders to eliminate disparities and ensure development. Ghana requires contributions from both sexes to fortify our democracy,” she stated.

Ms. Amankwaa further noted that women in rural areas face significant disadvantages when it comes to access to investments, subsidies, and income-generating opportunities. These disparities arise from factors such as limited property ownership, lack of agricultural land, inadequate education, and insufficient access to information.

“Beyond education and training, it is crucial to inform women in rural areas about women’s empowerment summits like SHE Power. These events allow for the sharing of best practices and success stories, demonstrating how women can establish and sustain entrepreneurship,” she explained.

Ms. Amankwaa revealed that the 2023 SHE Power Summit would take place in Accra at the Pentecost University. Distinguished guest speakers for the summit include Mrs. Joyce Bawah Mogtari (Special Aide to Former President John Dramani Mahama), Hon. Sophia Edem Ackuaku (MP for Domeabre-Oboom), Natalie Fort (TV Presenter at GH One), Hon. Angela Oforiwaa Alorwu-Tay (MP for Afadjato South), Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo (CEO of DCG Consulting Group), Akumaa Mama Zimbi (TV Presenter), Ms. Millicent Amankwaa Yeboah (Parliamentary Candidate for Sunyani West), and many others.

In addition to the CEO’s remarks, it was announced that the industrial summit would include an exhibition. Entrepreneurs and governmental organizations interested in showcasing their products or services are encouraged to contact the organizers to secure a slot for their offerings.

Lastly, Mr. Ebenezer Smith Baidoo, Managing Director of Smivic Communications Limited, stressed that to empower rural women economically, it is imperative to encourage their involvement in entrepreneurship and ensure their awareness of women’s empowerment summits, conferences, and workshops related to development.
