Magnus Naabe RexDanquah Nominates for MOBA National Ebusuapanyin in 2023 Elections

Magnus Naabe RexDanquah, a distinguished member of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) 1972 Year Group, has officially submitted his nomination forms for the 2023 elections, vying for the position of MOBA National Ebusuapanyin. Popularly known as ‘Uncle Rex,’ RexDanquah, a land economist, sport business consultant, and events architect, brings a wealth of experience and a strong connection to Mfantsipim School.

RexDanquah attended Mfantsipim School from 1967 to 1974 and was a prominent figure during his school years. He held positions such as Grounds Prefect (1973-1974) and was part of various school committees, including the Chapel Committee, Form 5B1, and Lower 6A Class Monitors. He also contributed articles to school publications like ‘The LIGHTING,’ ‘Kwabotwe Outlook,’ and the School Magazine.

According to an official testimonial on his file, RexDanquah was socially active, creatively contributing to the school’s social life, and played a notable role in safeguarding the school’s property. After his time at Mfantsipim, he pursued a BSc. in Land Economy & Estate Management at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST) and later ventured into the world of sport business and stadium management in 1979.

Throughout his career, RexDanquah was involved in various sports-related endeavors, including hosting the ‘SPORTS DIGEST’ TV program on GBC-TV in the eighties and editing publications like ‘PUBLIC OPINION’ and ‘SPORTS COIN’ weeklies. His contributions to sports development in Ghana were recognized by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) in 2015 when he received a Citation and Plaque at the 40th MTN/SWAG AWARDS NIGHT.

RexDanquah’s commitment to Mfantsipim School extended to his involvement in the School Board of Governors, School Development Planning Committee, and various other committees. He has also authored several published articles and books and is a proud father of seven children and nine grandchildren.

The vetting of nominations for all candidates in the 2023 MOBA Elections is scheduled to take place at the MOBA Secretariat in Accra from September 11th to 25th, with the campaign period set for September 26th to October 25th, 2023. The elections will be conducted on Thursday, October 26th, 2023.

The positions available on the MOBA National Executive Committee include the Ebusuapanyin/National President, Vice President, and eight Decade Representatives spanning various years.

RexDanquah’s nomination reflects his deep commitment to Mfantsipim School and his desire to contribute further to its legacy.
