Mikel Arteta Addresses Thomas Partey’s Future at Arsenal amid Transfer Speculations”

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has addressed the ongoing reports regarding Thomas Partey’s potential departure from the club. Amidst speculation suggesting that the Ghanaian midfielder was on the verge of being offloaded, Arteta has now expressed his desire to retain Partey as an integral part of the team for the upcoming season.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of their preseason game against Manchester United on Saturday, the Spaniard emphasized Partey’s significance to the squad, describing him as “super important.” Arteta’s statements signal the club’s intent to keep the services of the Black Stars deputy captain amidst any transfer rumors and underscore their confidence in the player’s abilities.

As the preseason progresses and the transfer window remains open, the focus now shifts to how the situation unfolds, with fans and football enthusiasts keeping a close eye on developments regarding Thomas Partey’s future at Arsenal.

When asked if he has Thomas Partey in his plans for the 2023/24 season, Arteta replied, “Without a question of a doubt. Thomas is a super important player for us and for me. I want him to be part of the team”.

Following the signing of Declan Rice from West Ham, rumours intensified that he would replace Thomas Partey but Mikel Arteta revealed that he can play them together.

“Yeah. They can play together. That was in my plans. If you want to improve the squad you need players that can improve the squad and players that can play together.”

Thomas Partey was not part of the initial Arsenal squad that travelled to the USA on Sunday for their preseason camping because of an injury but joined the team on Tuesday.
